Important information for our Outlook users: 3/16/07: Outlook Connector for Oracle does NOT work with Office 2007; if you try and intall it, it will corrupt your data. If the Outlook connector is important to you, we recommend that you do not move to Office 2007 until a fix is released.
Installing and Configuring Oracle Connector for Outlook
Summary
1. Download & unzip Oracle Connector for Outlook
2. Configure following the Installation Wizard on-screen instructions
3. Launch Outlook
4. Select the Oracle Calendar
5. Update Outlook to Oracle entries using the F9 key
Instructions
Download the Oracle Connector for Outlook
1. Download the Oracle Connector for Outlook from the Brickyard Downloads page. When prompted, save the file to your Desktop.

2. Exit all Windows applications (especially Outlook!) before starting the Oracle Connector for Outlook installation process.
3. Un-zip the current_version.zip file. It should contain one file, "con_outlook_1013_04.exe" (the exact file name may change depending on the current version of the Connector software). Double-click on this file to run it.
4. The installation of Oracle Connector for Outlook will begin. Click Next.
5. You will be asked to provide your name and organization. Fill in these fields, then click Next.

6. You will also be asked to specify a location to install the Connector software, and if you want a shortcut placed on your Desktop. The default installation directory is usually the best choice. You may wish to uncheck the shortcut box, to avoid confusion later. Click on Next when finished.

7. The installer will ask you to choose the languages you wish to use with the Connector. Add or remove additional languages if you wish, then click on Next.

8. If you're satisfied with the choices you made, click the Install button to proceed.

9. The installer will copy the needed files to your hard drive.

10. When the installer has completed it's work, you'll be given the option to begin configuring the Connector. Leave this checkbox checked, so the new Wizard will open immediately. Then click the Finish button.

Configuring the Oracle Connector for Outlook
1. The Configuration Wizard will open. Click the Next button to begin the procedure.

2. You will be given a list of Profiles for use with Outlook. If you do not already have one listed here, click the New button to create one. Otherwise, click the Next button.

3. On the next screen, you will enter information about your Brickyard Calendar server and account. See below for an example of how this screen will look. Use the following information:
Server Name: calendar.ncsu.edu, your node number
... where your node number will be one of the following:
Examples:
- NCSU general = node 101
- Textiles = node 102
- PAMS = node 103
- Engineering = node 104
- CALS / Extension Services = node 105
- Library = node 106
- calendar.ncsu.edu, 101
- calendar.ncsu.edu, 102
Account Name: your unity ID
Password: your Oracle Calendar password
Uncheck the boxes for Incoming Mail and Outgoing Mail (SMTP).

When you're satisified with these settings, click on Next.
4. You're finished. Click on the Finish button to close the wizard.

Updating the Oracle Connector for Outlook with current calendar entries
1. Launch Outlook

2. Click on Calendar

3. Place a Check mark in the “Calendar in Oracle” box and uncheck the Outlook Calendar box so that all you see is the Calendar in Oracle
With the “Calendar in Oracle” selected…
4. Click on the Tools menu, the Send\Receive menu and finally, the Send\Receive All option to update your calendar entries. (Or, press your F9 key)
