Scheduling Using Oracle Calendar

A user may create a scheduled meeting from the client while in any view: day, week, or month. On the menu bar, select Edit and then New Meeting, or click the "New Meeting" New Meeting icon on the toolbar. A user can also create a new meeting by highlighting the desired time on the calendar view, then right clicking and selecting "New Meeting".

New Meeting via drag and drop

The "New Meeting" dialog box will appear on the screen. Fill in the Title of your meeting. Then fill in the Location textfield. You can modify the Date and Start time/Duration/End Time by using the up and down arrows to adjust the time.

The user can add additional people/resources to the meeting by filling in the name (or a unique part of a name) in the Add textfield. When the user adds the person by clicking on the "Checkbox", the Oracle Calendar server will attempt to locate the user by the unique portion of the name you have given. If multiple matches are found, you will be presented a dialog box so as to select the person you wish to invite. If the user cannot find the person in question they are looking for, you can use the magnifying glass icon to locate the user by providing part of their name and searching the Oracle Calendar directory.

Filled in New meeting

A user can set additional options for meetings using the "Options" or "Repeating" tabs.

Once completed, the user can click on the "Ok" button at the bottom of the screen and Oracle Calendar will schedule the meeting. The user will be presented with a confirmation dialog box:

Email notification?
It is good practice to click the "Yes" button so others will know of the meeting through the notification method they have chosen to have Oracle Calendar alert them.
